Econometrics: Free Online Courses

The culture of open online courses and MOOC portals is steadily on the rise, and not without good reason! Indeed, many would argue that it is a great advantage to be able to access and learn technical knowledge, free of charge from top professors from leading universities, while sitting in the comfort of one’s home or an internet cafe.

In this post, we have compiled for you a list of free, open online courses in the discipline of Econometrics, including courses in statistical software.  Some other popular online resources in Econometrics have already been presented in an earlier blog post. All courses listed here are available in English and range from beginner to advanced levels in terms of difficulty. While some are open tutorials available at any time of the year, others have opening and closing dates for participation.

Some other courses like Introduction to Econometrics theory (Udemy) can be taken for a small fee (at the time of writing it was $49). There is also the MIT Open Courseware resource in Econometrics. However, this offers only static reading material without accompanying audio/visual supplements.
